The Making of a Charter School Network Leadership Team
Excellent candidates for the Charter School Incubator will build a team of talented, thoughtful leaders who are not satisfied with the current quality of public education in the United States. Candidates are impatient for change and passionate about the need to transform education in Indianapolis. They believe that all students deserve the opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of cultural or socio-economic obstacles that may stand in their way. As a result, they want to start or expand a public charter school in Indianapolis with the intention of growing into a local network of high-performing schools over the course of several years. Candidates are problem-solvers who have a very real idea about how to make change happen and are looking for a way to put their ideas into action.
The Charter School Incubator is open to people of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels, and to applicants from cities and states across the U.S. as well as international applicants. Successful applicants will build a team of individuals with:
- Exceptional entrepreneurial drive
- Proven impact and influence skills
- Strong analytic and conceptual thinking abilties, and
- Experience launching a school or other organization, initiative, or program.
Applicants may be, for example, current principals or directors of existing public charter schools, CEOs or other leaders of existing charter school networks, current educators with an idea for a network of life-changing schools, or professionals outside the education sector with significant experience leading and managing change in a highly-successful organization or program.
