The Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) Board of Commissioners this evening approved the Phalen
Leadership Academies (PLA) to start IPS’ first Innovation Network School, a transformative, new approach to public education that gives traditional IPS schools new freedom and flexibility to innovate at the school level.
The Mind Trust has received a $3.42 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to recruit and
support 300 talented educators to teach and serve Indianapolis public school students, leaders of The Mind Trust said today.
The Mind Trust will host its third in a series of “Educational Bus Tours,” which highlight
innovative and high-performing public schools in Indianapolis for local parents, educators and community
leaders.
The Mind Trust today announced that Steve Campbell, former deputy mayor of Indianapolis
and current small business owner, will become vice president of communications and oversee media and public relations, communications and new media for the Indianapolis nonprofit.
