Community Conversation: Police in Schools
Districts and schools across the country are examining the role school police and School Resource Officers play in the lives of students. In Indianapolis, local organizations and districts are conducting audits, gathering parent and student input and asking for more accountability.
Join Stand for Children Indiana, The Mind Trust and UNCF on Tuesday, June 15 at 6:00 p.m. for a virtual community conversation on police in schools and learn more about current research and recommendations from local and national experts.
Indy Summer Learning Labs
The Mind Trust and United Way of Central Indiana are partnering to support summer programming that can address lost learning opportunities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Similar to Community Learning Sites, the aim is to provide programming to families in neighborhoods with the greatest need, at no cost to families.
Community Learning Sites
Launched in August 2020, Community Learning Sites are small hubs that provide daytime eLearning support and supervision during the school year at no cost to Indianapolis families. The initiative was created to help families needing support during school building closures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Community Learning Sites have served more than 1,200 Indianapolis students.
Indiana eLearning Lab
The Indiana eLearning Lab is an online platform full of easily accessible eLearning resources and lesson ideas that are grounded in solid instructional pedagogy. The eLearning Lab is funded by the Indianapolis e-Learning Fund, and provides educators and families with the support they need to support students with eLearning. Sign up for a free account to access to eLearning experts via live chat, weekly eLearning webinars, and an open community forum to collaborate with others across the state of Indiana on eLearning.

Connecting educators to the funding, support, and connections they need, our fellowships help leaders develop and launch new schools, improve instructional methods, and launch education nonprofits in Indianapolis.
Surge Academy Indianapolis
Empowering teachers and education leaders of color to transform education and pursue equity, Surge Academy Indianapolis is an intensive, six-month fellowship program specifically designed for leaders of color working in education or youth-serving organizations who want to expand their leadership capacity and skill sets.
Teach Indy is a partnership between Indianapolis Public Schools, the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office of Education Innovation and The Mind Trust to recruit, develop, reward, and retain great educators for Indianapolis schools. Teachers can find job postings, resources, and upcoming events created for teachers, by teachers.
