The Mind Trust launches Equity Cohorts for Indianapolis schools and nonprofits in partnership with Beloved Community
The Mind Trust, an Indianapolis-based education nonprofit, has launched Equity Cohorts with two unique tracks for nonprofit organizations and schools or school networks. Beloved Community will lead cohort participants in training on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and support each organization with creating a 3-year plan to put their commitments into action.
The Mind Trust, an Indianapolis-based education nonprofit organization, is now accepting applications for the Talent Innovation Fund, an initiative designed to address the challenge of recruiting and retaining high-performing, diverse talent for public schools in Indianapolis. Districts, individual schools, school networks, or organizations serving students in Indianapolis’ Center Township may apply for funding that will support the implementation of innovative strategies to enhance the city’s public education talent pool.
The Mind Trust invests $20,000 to launch Go Farther Literacy Project for Indianapolis families and students
The Mind Trust, an Indianapolis-based education nonprofit, today announced the launch of the Go Farther Literacy Project, a new, pilot program to help Indianapolis families ensure their children can read at or above grade level. Through the initiative, The Mind Trust will invest $20,000 in projects that promote literacy, with awards ranging between $150 to $5,000 going directly to Indianapolis families and community organizations.
The Mind Trust today announced it has hired Kelli Marshall as Senior Vice President of Schools. In this role, Marshall will lead the organization’s efforts to increase the number of Indianapolis students who attend a high-quality school by supporting the launch of new schools, supporting existing schools to maximize their success, and recruiting, retaining, and supporting talented educators. Marshall has almost 30 years of experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, principal, school founder, and school network leader.
The Mind Trust receives $3.45 million from Lilly Endowment to support growth of diverse teacher talent pipelines
The Mind Trust, an Indianapolis-based education nonprofit, today announced it has received $3.45 million from Lilly Endowment Inc. to support Teach For America Indianapolis and TNTP’s Indianapolis Teaching Fellows, which recruit, develop, and retain high-quality, diverse teachers for public schools in Indianapolis.
