The Mind Trust names charter school leader to lead development efforts, special projects

INDIANAPOLIS – The Mind Trust today announced that Lauren Rush, currently chief operations officer for
the Community Charter Network in Indianapolis, will join The Mind Trust as director of development and
special projects.

In her new role, she will oversee all aspects The Mind Trust’s fundraising efforts, as well as special
events, collection and analysis of organizational impact data and other special and strategic projects.

“Lauren Rush’s experience in the classroom and her leadership of a charter school network means she
understands the many complex issues surrounding education in Indianapolis,” said David Harris, founder
and CEO of The Mind Trust. “We’re pleased to add yet another local education expert to The Mind Trust.”

At the Community Charter Network, Rush oversaw and managed operations for the local network of
charter schools serving 1,200 students across Indianapolis. She previously served in leadership roles
with Teach For America (TFA) in Indianapolis, including service as managing director of teacher
leadership development where she oversaw the teaching service of 150 first- and second-year corps
members working in 30 Indianapolis schools, impacting more than 6,000 students.

Before returning to Indiana, she spent two years as TFA corps member teaching math at Anna Strong
Middle School in Arkansas. After her time with TFA ended, she continued her teaching career at Anna
Strong and later at KIPP Delta College Preparatory School, also in Arkansas.

Rush holds a bachelor’s degree in Youth, Adult & Family Services from Purdue University and currently is
completing an MBA in Education Leadership at the University of Indianapolis.
