As Senior Vice President of School Support, Joe White serves on The Mind Trust’s leadership team and leads the expansion of The Mind Trust’s emerging continuum of school supports that provide access to a range of instructional, operational, and executive leadership supports for existing schools and networks. His work focuses on building staff capacity within Indianapolis schools to ensure students have access to a world-class educational experience.
Since joining The Mind Trust in 2016 as its Senior Director of School Incubation, White has led The Mind Trust’s partnership with the Relay Graduate School of Education’s National Principals Academy Fellowship and has developed several groundbreaking initiatives that provide educators across Indianapolis with expert support.
Before joining The Mind Trust, White was the school director and campus pastor at iTown church in Fishers, where he developed and launched a school that prepares students ages 18-30 for a successful transition into full-time ministry. He also served as executive director of The Excel Center, where he was instrumental in the charter network’s growth from one to eleven schools. Before taking on the executive director role, he launched The Excel Center’s campus in Anderson, Indiana and achieved some of the best academic results in the entire network. He also has served as an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech Community College, and he began his career as a teacher in Richmond, Indiana. White was selected by the Indianapolis Business Journal for its “Forty Under 40″ class in 2015. White holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in teaching from Earlham College.
