Indy Summer Learning Labs Opens Applications for 2026 Summer Instructional Staff

Three instructional staff positions will be available for this summer’s program; competitive compensation and training will be offered.

(March 3, 2026) – Indy Summer Learning Labs (ISLL), a five-week, free summer academic and enrichment program, is now hiring instructional staff for summer 2026 programming. The program will hire supervising teachers, English Language Arts (ELA) and math teachers, and classroom assistants. The Mind Trust recruits, selects, and places teachers at community-based sites, while school sites retain autonomy over hiring for their respective campuses. ISLL is proud to offer competitive compensation and support to ensure a strong summer experience for both staff and students.

ISLL serves students who will be in grades 1-9 following the summer break. Students receive math and reading instruction in the morning, and participate in enrichment programming in the afternoon. Since 2021, the program has consistently delivered double-digit learning gains in both math and reading for participating students. All sites will be free during their core hours and during the five weeks of ISLL programming. Some locations may have fees associated with before- and after-care beyond normal program hours or extended weeks beyond June 15 through July 17.

This year’s program will run from June 15 to July 17, 2026, at 62 school and community-based locations across Marion County. Staff training will take place from June 8 to 12, 2026.

“Indy Summer Learning Labs gives thousands of Indianapolis students the opportunity to accelerate their learning, close academic gaps, and return to school more confident and prepared. That impact is only possible because of our dedicated instructional staff. We are committed to recruiting passionate, skilled educators who drive measurable results for students and ensure families experience the full value of the program,” said Jazmin Sanders, Senior Director of Innovative Learning.

ISLL instructional staff roles and requirements

ISLL is proud to work with licensed, retired, and aspiring teachers who can fully utilize a high-quality math and reading curriculum. All applicants are employed and compensated directly by Morales Group (Prima Staffing). While ISLL will place employees at various site locations, Morales is the hiring company and assumes full responsibility for employee wages, payroll, and other employment matters.

Instructional staff will receive student materials and support from ISLL.
