About the Event

Celebrating Education Innovation will celebrate leaders, educators, families, and organizations who are working tirelessly each day to ensure Indianapolis students have access to high-quality, equitable education. Former Indiana Fever star Tamika Catchings and former Colts player Marlin Jackson, will share their passion for education in a fireside chat.

The event will also honor Teresa Lubbers for her contributions in securing the passage of Indiana’s charter school law in 2001 and her tireless advocacy in support of better school options over a decades-long career as a public servant.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Indianapolis’ first charter school opening. Leading up to this event, The Mind Trust will be featuring a series of stories from leaders, educators, and parents on the impact of charter schools in their first twenty years. Find the most recent stories at the bottom of this page or by visiting themindtrust.org/news.
