Grow Your Leadership. Deepen Your Impact.

The IndyEd Leadership Network is a cohort-based professional development network designed to support emerging educational leaders in Indianapolis charter and innovation schools. Through high-quality, in-person learning experiences, participants develop the skills and mindset they need to become impactful leaders at the building level and beyond.

The program is open to any educator at an Indianapolis charter or innovation school and is particularly well-suited for team and grade-level leads, instructional coaches, deans, directors, and assistant principals. The program is free, each session includes lunch, and all participants receive a program t-shirt.

Spots are limited, and participation requires a commitment to attending in-person sessions throughout the program year. Completing the registration form does not guarantee a spot; applicants will be contacted with the next steps after submitting.

IndyEd Leadership Network Program Details

The IndyEd Leadership Network brings together a wide range of educators, from teacher leaders and department heads to instructional coaches and school administrators, spanning elementary, middle, and high school settings across Indianapolis. Throughout the program, participants strengthen their skills across four key leadership domains:

Domain 1: Personal Leadership
Understanding yourself as a leader, your strengths, your values, and how you show up for others.

Domain 2: Positional Leadership
Leveraging your role and influence within your organization to drive meaningful change.

Domain 3: People Leadership
Building strong teams, navigating difficult conversations, and leading effectively from any position.

Domain 4: Systems Leadership
Exploring the broader challenges and opportunities that shape education in Indianapolis and beyond.

A Look at Year One

The IndyEd Leadership Collaborative launched its inaugural cohort in fall 2025 at P30 on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. Participants dove into personal leadership, exploring how to leverage their individual strengths, develop their leadership identity, and lead with self-awareness and influence. For the inaugural session, 15 school leaders spent four hours with facilitator Beth Napleton of LevelEDUp Leadership.

The second session built on that foundation, with leaders returning in December to go deeper into self-awareness and examine how their personal leadership shows up in their daily work with students, staff, and school communities. Participants heard from an expert panel of educators, including Indiana Charter School Fellow Aaron Wallace, Assistant Education Director at Dynamic Minds Academy, who shared insights into working with diverse learners and the realities of specialized teaching roles. They also engaged in a hands-on problem of practice, designing lesson plans for special education students and learning how to adjust instruction to meet a variety of accommodations and needs.

By the third session, the cohort shifted focus to people leadership. Led by Beth Napleton of LevelEDUp Leadership, a dozen school leaders practiced navigating difficult conversations, building trust across their teams, and leading effectively from any position within their organizations.
