Pastor Hampton to highlight fourth ‘Educational Bus Tour’ of innovative, high-performing public schools

INDIANAPOLIS – The Mind Trust will host its fourth in a series of "Educational Bus Tours," which highlight
high-performing public schools in Indianapolis for local parents, educators and community members, later
this month.

Each bus tour visits two public schools in Indianapolis and features a keynote speaker who will discuss
innovative ideas for Indianapolis public school classrooms. This month’s keynote speaker is Rev. Dr.
David A. Hampton, senior pastor of Light of the World Christian Church.

WHERE: Brookside Elementary School (IPS #54), 3150 E. 10th St. Paramount School of Excellence, 3020 Nowland Ave.
(The tour will depart at 8:45 a.m. the Julia Carson Government Center,
300 E. Fall Creek Pkwy.)

The tours are co-sponsored the Indianapolis Public Schools, UNCF, 100 Black Men of Indianapolis, La
Plaza and the Expectations Project.

Previous bus tours have highlighted the Center for Inquiry (IPS #27), Herron High School, Gambold
Preparatory Magnet School, Enlace Academy, Arlington Woods Elementary School (IPS #99) and Tindley
Collegiate Academy. Featured speakers have included IPS Superintendent Dr. Lewis Freebee, former
Indianapolis mayor and The Mind Trust chairman Bart Peterson, IPS School Board vice president Sam
Odle as keynote speakers.
