KIPP Indy Schools

Emerging Leaders Fellow Mary Brody plans to further the impact of KIPP Indy Public Schools (KIPP) by creating and offering third-grade students a before-school tutoring program, Rising Readers. The program will take place for one hour, five days a week with provided early bussing for both students and siblings.

Mary Brody is the Director of Instruction for grades 3-5 at KIPP Indy Public Schools and has 9 years of experience in education. Before her current role, she worked as a first and third-grade lead teacher after joining KIPP in 2016.

Brody was most recently a participant in KIPP’s Equity Working Group as well as their Emerging Leader Fellowship. In 2016, she won IPS #51’s Teacher of the Year Award, and in her first semester at KIPP, she won an Excellence in Teaching Award. Brody earned her bachelor of arts degree from Depauw University and her master’s in teaching from Marian University.
